Alterna

"Alterna" is a system that enhances one unit by combining their abilities with those of another. Performing Alterna requires two units who have each undergone 5 trials: one base unit and one partner unit. Alterna allows you to do the following to the base unit:
・Raise enhancement caps ・Change unit type ・Change sub-gear slot ・Change or evolve active skills ・Acquire, evolve, or forget passive skills
■Raise enhancement caps
Through Alterna, the maximum value of enhancements can be raised. There is a limit to how high enhancement caps can be raised through Alterna. Caps can be raised more easily by using different Killer Princesses as partners. (Even if the skill set does not change, the raise in the max enhancement cap will be added.)
■Crystal Bonuses
Setting a Crystal Bonus may grant an extra boost to stat cap increases. There is a limit to how high enhancement caps can be raised from Crystal Bonuses.
■Change unit type
If the base and partner units are the same type, it is unlikely there will be a change. If they are different unit types, it will be likely the unit type becomes that of the partner unit. Still, there is a rare chance that a completely different unit type will emerge.
■Change sub-gear slot
If the base and partner units have the same type of gear slot, it is unlikely there will be a change. If they have different types of gear slot, it will be likely the gear slot becomes that of the partner unit. Still, there is a rare chance that a completely different type of gear slot will emerge. Each slot is determined individually. (Even if a weapon slot is chosen, the weapon type still depends on the unit.)
■Change or evolve active skills
Skills have a chance to evolve when the Trait Tags of the base and partner units' skills meet requirements. Even if a skill does not evolve, there is a chance skills will change when there are multiple skills of the same level. (There is always a chance a Lv. 1 skill will change regardless of its Trait Tag.)
■Acquire, evolve, or forget passive skills
New skills may be obtained from unacquired base skills and partner skills. When the base and partner units have the same skills, there is a chance skills will evolve. There is a chance the base will forget the skills it has acquired. (You can choose to "Change" or "Cancel Change" for the skills, unit type, etc. after Alterna.)
(When a partner is used for Alterna, it will use up 1 unit of their Alterna Energy, and once their Alterna Energy reaches 0, they will be unable to act as an Alterna partner until their energy is recovered.) (Lazuli are required to perform Alterna and recover energy.) (The amount of Lazuli required to perform Alterna increases according to the Alterna level.) (Passive Skills are always acquired at Lv. 1.)
■Fragment
When you perform Alterna, random Fragmentation can occur, which may produce Unit Crystals. Fragmentation will grant the following at the listed probabilities and definitely grant something:
Unit that is the same as the base unit: 0.4% Unit with the same element as the base unit: 4.8% Unit with the same gear type as the base unit: 4.8% Mana Points: 90%
(Even if conditions are met, the unit might not be produced in the case of collab units, limited-time units, etc.) (Units will be produced as crystals.)
